House Hunting

We've found a house we really love. Uggggggg. Anyone have $187,000 you could give to us. We've been looking for a rental somewhere. And everything we love is for sale instead of for rent. There is a home in Verona (Bridge Tower) that we really like, but there is no room to roam in the house. It's hard to explain. I love the kitchen of the home and it's super nice, but it definitely is a typical patio home. Not really room for kid crap. :) ha ha. So onward the search goes. There are a few homes we love, but nothing is "perfect" yet. You know, that feeling. Except the stupid one for sale. ha ha Not stupid, but just not realistic. It sucks to be poor and to be in this situation. When I wanted to move, I wanted to upgrade. I wanted be excited to move. Not dread it and be angry, upset, and just disappointed about it. We'll see where we end up. Again...a plea for about $187,000. :) LOVES!

HAPPY V DAY!

Happy Valentine's Everyone. Today was a super low key day. We aren't big on Vday. I mean, it's all fun and stuff, but we refuse to go all out and spend the money on flowers, chocolates etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm a romantic. My husband CAN be a romantic. When he wants to be. But we say we would rather do something special for each other on a day we choose that is a surprise, not a designated day. Plus, they jack up the prices on everything. :) So anyway, good 'ol hubby surprised me today. I already knew what he was going to do though because I'm just a genious. I always guess stuff. He didn't mention anything to me about this, but I just knew. Anyway, he got me a gold necklace awhile ago. (I mean like, years...) Well it broke but I kept it because the same thing happened to my other silver necklace and I got it fixed. So he got it fixed for me! I was super excited. I love it. It's little and thin and it just fits me perfect and it's not gaudy flashy as I am not. For my birthday, when I was pregnant with Lucy, he got me a pearl pendant to put on the chain. And ofcourse, I haven't been able to wear that since my necklace broke. I loved it!!!

I am a dork, and didn't get my hubby anything. We agreed to go out to dinner next week and have our date then when the crowds are not so ridiculous. I'm going to get him some marionberry balls that are his favorite for next week's date. Plus he's like, "Vday is totally a girls day. Guys don't need anything." Ahhh...let's my guy! lol And, I'd rather get him his marionberry balls when he least expects it!

So today, I took Lucy to her little friend's Vday party. SO cute! Great job Trudy!!! I'll have to post pics when I get them off my camera. Then, I came home and Drew went to run the dogs. He got home and we decided to go look at some houses. Then we went to Fuddruckers. And then, to Krispy Kreme. Yeah, not such a great day of eating in our house. Oh well.

That was our Vday. Fun, low key, and just right. We are tight on money so we definitely weren't going to go all out and get flowers and chocolates etc. We didn't even get the kids a valentine. We'll get them Monday when it's all 75% off!!! :) They won't even know the difference.

Rip Off

I love blog stealing. :) Alli, thanks for this!

Be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly." -Thomas S. Monson Oct. 2008 General Conference

My Daughter...AKA Da Vinci

My daughter is a heck of an artist. Heather, you're gonna love these!! I am not creative in that department. I can't draw worth a dern. However, Drew is a pretty good artist, and his dad really is the artist in the family. She must get it from the Ditts side. She was able to draw smiley faces pretty early and she's just always held a crayon or pen or pencil correctly without much guidance from me. Maybe she'll end up making the big bucks someday. Here are her latest art drawings. She's a freakin' genious! :) lol

I love how she drew her hand and included her fingernails.

This is a whale. Not only a whale...but "A Happy Whale" Titled by Lucy ofcourse. She decided to "make him colored" as well.

And this one is my favorite and blows my mind. K-she's three. I know it's probably not that big of deal, but I've seen some other 3 year olds draw. She colors in the lines and is particular about coloring as well. This drawing might be worth a million. ;)
"A Cat" and she named him "Hockey" I don't know where she got that from. lol

So Funny...More Crying Woes

I just think this is so funny. Why am I crying? I've actually come to the conclusion that I cry when I'm all around happy. I'm a pretty happy person for the most part. And lately, I've just been satisfied with myself. Not my house, or my laundry problem, or with my scripture studies etc, but just happy with being me. So I cry at happy things. When I'm depressed, I don't cry. Weird. Anyway, I totally DID NOT cry at The Notebook. I have no heart I guess. But what do I do last night...??? Bawl when Shanon from Biggest Loser carries Sione across the floor. Weird...I'm so awesome.

So, why am I crying....? Because I'm happy. I'm all around happy with myself, my marriage, my kids, and all the things that will be important in the next life. I don't have a million dollars, or even a hundred right now. I don't have a home with granite countertops and it's not on an acre lot. I don't even have a whole lot of decor in my home. I don't dress up all the time and look 100% stylish. I always have clothes on the floor in my bedroom or bathroom. So what?! I'm happy. :) (this week anyway lol) No really, I am though. I'm satisfied with who I am. I like me. I'd be friends with me. :)

So being satisfied with yourself is a HUGE thing in the LDS community. Especially being a woman and feeling like you have to "do it all." Sew, cook, have your food storage, tie quilts, scrapbook, read your scriptures every day, pray with your family etc. It's overwhelming. Well, my friend Beth gave a seriously awesome talk last night at Enrichment. (shout out to BETH!) The biggest words I could ever hear from her was "Let It Go" I wrote it down and I"m going to paste it to everything I own. ;) Instead of focusing on the few things that I can't do, or don't do, I'm totally focusing on all the things I do wonderfully. I don't want to sound full of myself or anything but I'm actually good at a lot of things. A "Jack of all trades, master of none" if you will. Everything I try, I'm pretty good at. Now, I don't master it by all means and I'm not the best, but if I try it out, I'm usually pretty adequate. So, I'm totally focusing on that this year. So I'm going to "Let It Go" that I don't weigh 120 pounds. I'm going to "Let It Go" that I don't cook gourmet meals all the time, or have a spotless house, or that I have a mountain of laundry to put away. Hey, at least they are CLEAN! :)

Another thing Beth said that I loved was that in the Eternities, the Lord isn't going to ask about the scrapbooks you have, or the "castle" cakes you baked for your daughter, or how many quilts you tied etc. He's going to ask you about your relationships with others. LOVE THAT. Thank goodness. I'm safe. :)

So thanks to Beth and Angie as well for the wonderful Enrichment last night. I'm totally writing down my laundry goal. Ugggg. :) Angie, thanks for all the wonderful inspiration you talked about last night about meeting a goal and not feeling overwhelmed with the 15,000 goals I have. Let's start with one!

Updates

I just got back from Utah. My little niece is sooooo stinkin' cute. I'll post a pic later. She is so perfect. I miss a newborn so bad. I came home and Kyle ofcourse is HUGE compared. It was sad.

Kyle is finally getting back to his normal self. He had an ear infection after me using my mommy intuition and saying it wasn't an ear infection. I'm awesome. :) I knew something was up though, but just thought he had the flu. He's on amox and it's giving him the diarrhea and his bum is so sore, but other than frequent diaper changes of sharts (sorry, but that is what we call them), and him crying when we wipe, he's back to his happy self! He's got two bottom teeth. He's sitting up. And he's just such a good kid. So happy and easy.

The weather has been awesome so lately, Lucy is riding her bike. She is a pro at it. This Summer, we are going to get her off her training wheels. I got a bike that was bigger than a toddler bike, so as soon as she can control it with her feet, off comes the trainers.

My Pampered Chef is going well. The new Spring line just came out and can I just say HOLLAH!!! It's the best line yet. They have a pineapple wedger. It seriously is the best thing ever. I'm totally getting it. I have to keep doing it because my wish list is off the hook. At least I get most my wish list for free. Hollah number two baby! I'm excited.

Well, I better get off the computer and get some things done. Kyle has got his booster shots today so we need to get ready!
